Focus, Faith & Blessings

"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."   Isaiah 40:31

I try to stay focused on God.  Sometimes when things get so busy and problems keep coming, it is easy to lose focus... just when we need it most.  God promised to take care of us if we just have faith and let Him take control.  The promise is to take care of us... not make everything easy or perfect for us.  I heard something this weekend that shocked me... that just over 2-1/2%  of Christians tithe (give God back 10% of everything we make).   I figured it was a low percentage, but never dreamed it was that low.  Tithing is simply giving back to God what was His in the first place.  He provides the job for us, the source of our income... He is the source of our income.  When  you know you need all of that money to pay bills, it takes a lot of faith to tithe.  You have to have faith that God will keep His promise and provide for our needs.  We don't know where it will come from or how, but we know God can do anything!  When we are faithful, God is faithful to keep His promise and bless us. So, Have Faith!

Have a great week!  Blessings!

Resting in His Hands!

"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:4-10

It is so comforting to know that we are in God's hands! No matter what our circumstances are, we can have peace knowing He is in control and will take care of us. We may not always get what we want, but He will provide what we need... sometimes right when we need it and not before. Sometimes I think He waits until the last minute to teach us to have faith in Him, that He will provide.

Have a blessed weekend!

Everyone is Welcome Here!

"My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong? If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,”[a] you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." James 2:1-20

We had such a wonderful sermon at church this morning talking about not judging others in or out of church... not being hypocritical of the sins others commit... and accepting all of God's children as equal regardless of their finances, their job, their past or anything else. If we truly did this, anyone would feel welcome in church. And isn't that what we want... to bring new people into the church? That is what God wants...

Just something to think about!

Have a blessed day!
