Hand Painted Wine Glass Candles

Hand Painted Wine Glass Candles

These are hand painted using water and spray paint or acrylic paint.  You put a small amount of water in a clean glass and spray paint into the water.  As you roll the glass around the paint comes off on the glass when it gets to the edge of the water.  After doing your first color, you let it dry, then repeat with your second, and third colors.  After it has all dried, take a silver or gold spray paint to coat the inside.  There will still be some "cracks" in the paint so your candle will shine through when burning.  Then coat inside with a sealer.  After that is completely dry, melt gel candle wax, add scent and pour into glass with a wick.  The "snow" glass is made by painting a coat of Modge-Podge on the outside of the glass and rolling in epsom salt, then sprayed with a coat of sealer.  I have these for sale for $20 each in my shop... 1970's Lamp Project

Here is my 1970's lamp project....

This was a green lamp (see below) that had white paint dripped on it from some years back.  I found it in the rental hues we bought and thought I would spruce it up a bit.  The appliances in the kitchen had silver and black trim, so I spray painted the entire frame metallic silver.  Then I took the black and sprayed it lightly over it to give it a speckled look.  The curtains in the house were white with sunflowers on them, which I love, so I found some green trim with pale yellow, green and pink beads and glued around the bottom of the top part of the lamp.  The entire project took about 30 minutes (not counting drying time) and cost about $5 since silver and black paint are always on hand at my house!
