Christmas craft - Tile Coasters

This was my Christmas project for all of the grandparents this year. I usually make something with photos of the kids, because, what else do you get grandparents?! This project was super easy! I bought a bunch of ceramic tiles for $0.16 each. I have Sharpie markers in all colors. I used the metallic gold to outline the edges of the tiles to give them a finished look. Then I baked the tiles for 30 minutes at 350 degrees to set the marker. I sized my pictures in Photoshop and printed on my inkjet printer. I spread a thin layer of Modge Podge on the tile and then placed my photos on the tiles. Then I put a thicker coat of Modge Podge on the photos covering the entire tile, making sure to squeeze out any air bubbles. After that coat dried I put another coat and then a third after that one had dried. Lastly I put 4 small felt circles on the bottom in each corner. Done!

I hope everyone has a great, crafty afternoon!

Back to Life...

Happy Wednesday! It's been tough getting back to work and school this week after the long Thanksgiving weekend. We had so much fun on our camping trip. I took our Christmas card photos while we were there along with photos for our friends that were with us. The girls enjoyed the photo shoot! We ate dinner outside (in the freezing cold) each night then warmed up around a blazing campfire! We rode bikes and watched movies. It was a lot of fun. But now its back to reality. Spending the rest of this week trying to get caught up on laundry. I am also frantically cleaning my house as we have our first showing this Friday. I am so excited. We are ready to get moved to the farm! Everyone pray for us as we go through this adventure, please. Thanks so much!

Have a great afternoon!

Happy black Friday!

Happy Black Friday. I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. We enjoyed a huge meal with family and friends while camping for the weekend. It was 39 degrees as we ate dinner outside last night. Then we say around a very warm fire while the kids played. I am so thankful! Now I am enjoying black Friday by sleeping in, eating, and sitting around with friends. No shopping on the agenda! I do as much shopping online as possible and throughout the year. This year we are making a lot of homemade gifts. This weekend one thing that is on the agenda is taking photos for our Christmas cards. I will gather up our three kids and their friends and we will take pictures. Later we will all gather back for another big diner together and campfire later.

I hope everyone enjoys this Friday whatever you decide to do. If you are shopping online hop over to paisleytrading.com and check out my necklaces and goats milk soap. They make great inexpensive gifts.

Apple Surprise, Pink Zebra & monogram necklaces!

I'm going to start out with a recipe today. I created these last night and they were a big hit! I started with 3 cans of crescent rolls, rolled 2 out together where they formed a rectangle; then drizzled them with caramel, sprinkled on some sugar and cinnamon, then added a handful of miniature marshmallows and topped with a few apple slices. Then I pulled the 4 corners together and pinched them together to seal and put them on a baking sheet. Lastly, I poured melted butter over them and baked at 350 for about 15 minutes. Serve warm and top with vanilla ice cream!

After dinner, my sister-in-law brought us our goodies we ordered from her. She is a Pink Zebra rep. Pink Zebra sells "candle bits". At least that is what I call them. They are highly scented little bits of wax. You can mix scents to create your own aroma. The parties are lots of fun and we came up with some neat ideas and "recipes" for candle scents. This was my recipe. I went home and tried it in my burner. It smelled really good!

I will provide information to order the Pink Zebra stuff at Paisleytrading.com and in the blog soon.

I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Relaxing Sunday afternoon....

The craft show went great yesterday! It was a first time event so not the largest crowd, but went well anyway. I sold several necklaces, took some custom orders and gave out lots of business cards! Hopefully some of those will turn into orders as well. We also gave away a gift basket containing a necklace, a "sippy" Mason jar, a hair bow, homemade sugar scrub, and some oils from Back Creek Suds and Scrubs! The winner of our gift basket was Kimberly Canoy. Congratulations! Thank you to everyone who came by and to the Randolph/Asheboro YMCA for hosting this great event. I know it will continue to grow and be a huge success!

We enjoyed a wonderful church service this morning, with a very motivational message to view our job or school as a mission field everyday. Everyday we have the opportunity to be God's hands and feet (and voice) wherever we are. If we look at our job or school in that light, it makes the day seem much different.

I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday afternoon!

A relaxing night at home

Tonight was great... I got to go home after picking my daughter up from play practice and cook supper. Four of us were there. Collin had gone to a Bible Study tonight. It is so unusual for me to get home in time to cook supper that it is a treat to do so. I actually love to cook, but rarely have time. When we go camping I usually cook the whole time we are there. We have some of our best meals while we are camping! So, tonight I am praising God for the small things... being home early enough to cook and sharing a meal with my husband and 2 of our children.

I'm still getting ready for the show Saturday. I am putting together a gift basket and a couple of gift bags to give away this weekend. If you are in the area, come by the Randolph/Asheboro YMCA and visit us @ Paisley Trading Co.

If you are not nearby, visit us online. You can do some early Christmas shopping at my Etsy shop... Paisley Trading Co. The monogram necklaces make great teacher gifts

It looks like it is going to be a busy weekend. I hope to get some cooking and a little crafting in sometime. I hope everyone has a great night!

Blessings,

JaAnna

Just a thought for the morning...

Psalm 100:1-5 "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." No matter what is going on around me, if I just take a little time each morning to thank God for all He has done and praise Him, then everything else seems so much better! Have a blessed day! Catching up!

I know it's been a while since my last post.  We are trying to sell our house and busy packing up all of the "excess stuff" that makes it look over full!  What a job.  The cowgirl tea party went great!  They had sweet tea and lemonade in mason jars (everyone got to take one home afterwards) and they had cake out of the small jelly jars.  I think they had fun!

Now I am getting ready for a show this Saturday at our local YMCA.  They are hosting a craft show and I am hoping to sell a lot of necklaces!  If you haven't seen them, please check out my Etsy page:  Paisley Trading Co.  You can get to it from my website, paisleytrading.com.  I'm hoping everyone comes out ready to buy some cute Christmas gifts!  If you are in the area, come by between 8 am and 4 pm at the Randolph/Asheboro YMCA.  We will be giving away a couple of prizes... so be sure to come by and enter to win!

Amidst all of this chaos, I am reminded that I need to slow down and have some quiet time studying my Bible and just listening for God.  Sometimes, being still and quiet is the hardest thing in the world.  I thrive on constant motion.  After spending a little time just being still, though, I feel so revived and ready to take on the world again.  Although, I know I don't have to take on the world.  God does that for me.  All I have to do is have faith to believe He does!  Psalm 46:10-11, "He says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."  The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress."

Have a peaceful and blessed evening!

The Redneck... I mean Cowgirl Tea Party!

The invitations went out.  Now to get the mason jars done.  I need all the pink glitter I can find.  We are having as much fun planning this one as the girls will have at the party!  I will post more pictures as we go this week leading up the big day on Saturday!  I hope everyone is having a great Monday so far!

Creating A "Cowgirl Tea Party"

It is tradition around here that the girls have a tea party for their 6th birthday.  For the youngest one, we decided to try something a little different.  We are drinking sweet tea out of mason jars!  That just seems to fit us better!  "Cassie's Cowgirl Tea Party"  I have been hitting up Pinterest and finding so many awesome ideas that I don't know where to start!  I have the invitations done and handed out.  I will post some pics and ideas as I go.  The party is September 21, so I have a week and a half to get this done.  Karsan (my 13 year old) is very excited to help with this one!

I hope everyone has a great evening!

Blessings,

JaAnna
